Aspen

I have grown up wanting a horse and wanting to be a barrel racer. Every year I asked for a horse but never got one. After about 8 years of asking, i finally got one. But sadly, he did not accept me as his owner.

However, about 3 1/2 years after that, I became good friends with a girl and she had received a horse but was scared of the horse because the animal was very high spirited and loved to run.

She is a palomino/paint/red dun with her right eye being brown and her left eye being blue. After about 2 weeks of me riding the animal, my friends father said if i could talk my dad into buying her, i could have the horse. For about 3 months my dad paid off the amount owed for the horse and now i have had the horse (Aspen) for almost 2 years.

She has fulfilled my dreams. We are competing and still learning to barrel race and are getting better.

This past August of 2009 has ended our 2nd year of training and competing and we are working this winter in order to get ready for Show season of 2010.

Everything happens for a reason.

Such a great story, it looks like all the waiting really worked out well in the end. I hope everything goes well with your barrel racing. Sporting with your horse can be one of the most fulfilling things.
