Horse Country

Horse country is Saint-Lazare. It is a horse lovers paradise! There are approximately 3,500 horses in this area. More than anywhere else in Canada. And, Saint-Lazare has some of the most beautiful trails. Lots of riding schools, boarding stables, horse shows and polo fields. Take a drive. You will see that almost every house has a corral with a horse or two. You don’t have to be rich to own a horse. Land here is relatively inexpensive and only 30 minutes away from Montreal. If you want to own a horse ranch or live close to a boarding stable, Horse country - Saint Lazare is your best bet. Shopping is close by, and nature is all around. Our back yard leads onto the trails. Imagine having your horse in your own back yard and saddling up to go for an early morning ride either alone or with a neighbor, There are no shortage of horse people here. Here are some pictures we took on the "Les Forestiers" trails. Members of Club Equestre Les Forestiers are blessed with a natural woodland area of approximately 300 square miles combined with some of the most spectacular views and unbelievable footing for riding all year round. The extensive riding trails include parts of the communities of St. Lazare, Hudson, Ste. Marthe, St. Clet and Les Cèdres and Rigaud. To find out more about the club click on
